The Winner Is…Not Society

I have to admit, I didn’t watched the Oscars, however with all the news reports and the social media statuses, I believe I can make these assessment to what went on with the show and the world’s reaction:

1) The world was impressed with a particular lady’s performance because she wore clothes and sang a decent song from an old decent movie. She was anointed a saint and admired!

2) The world was impressed with this guy who came out in his underwear, dressed in his shoes and socks. The world thought he was so brave and funny. Everyone wanted to be his Starbucks coffee buddy.

3) Some actress came out and speak up for all the suffering that women endure in this country. The horror of what these United States are doing to women. With all the guts and fire she demonstrated to fight the good fight for women, I say we send her to the Middle East. Plenty of opportunities there.

4) Oh yeah, this guy came out of the ever emptying closet to meet the expected confession, “I am GAY”. An award show cannot go on without someone admitting their secret pain. It is the cool and popular to do that now!! This guy’s story was so emotional! He mentioned how he raised himself from the ashes of despair to become a STAR. I couldn’t help but noticed that all who reported his story, seems to want to reach out and hug him. He is for a moment, the world’s teddy bear.

5) All the African American movies, actors and directors were snubbed. The world was so impressed with how all the Civil Right Leaders were NOT impressed with the Oscars, because of the snub.

6) All the American Patriotic movies, actors and directors were snubbed. The world was so NOT impressed with how the patriotic minded Americans were NOT impressed with the Oscars, because of the snub.

7) Some other guy came out and said we should all thank our parents for our success. If one or both are still alive, he said call them and have a conversation with them. Not by text…not by email, but have a real conversation that last for awhile. He was ignore by the news media and social networkers. Maybe because he said something normal and sane. Oh yeah, he was wearing a tuxedo that covered his whole body, didn’t claimed to be gay (he could be, I don’t know) and didn’t promote some special interest group or cause. Talk about a FAILure!!

Our world today!
